I think everyone interprets this song in a way according to what situation is currently tangled with their lives because it would apply to them. For me, I believe this is a girl waiting. Waiting for him to make up his mind, because they liked each other, but he just got up and ran away from it. He then comes back and she gives him a second chance, but he disappears again.

She's begging him to stop giving her hope so easily, then snatching it away just as quickly. She realises it was probably all pointless but she still longs for the moments they shared together to come back.

She clearly still has feelings for him and just wants to know 'Why' he's doing it all. Too many questions are still unaswered for her. It makes me want to cry. This song is amazing. I understand this song with the realationship I am in now except for I wasnt the one to break all the promises he was and I am saying why do you do this to me why do you do this so easily you make it hard to smile because you make it hard to breath and the buttons on my phone are worn down thin that is true cause I call him all the time.

This songs mean alot to me. I was love with a girl who liked me back but had a boyfriend. She had me on the hook and kept telling me well be together one day. As time went on, nothing happened except my love for her grew and grew each day. After about 2 years of waiting, she got engaged with the guy she was dating. That was almost a year ago and I still can't get over her even though I knew what we were doing was wrong.

If I had her she would have been my everything. Everytime I hear this song I think of her when she told me that we would never happen. It really takes your heart. I went thru the same situation!

Even thou she feels lonely she never shows up! And the boi getz messed up! He still loves her but knows it's not meant to be. He's promising to let her go to where she belongs. With someone else? I don't know. This is just my opinion.

General Comment "I promise I will bring you home" home is a place where we can feel comfortable, a place we're familiar with. Home is reference to many things metaphorically in songs. I think he means regardless of what she's done to him, he's going to try to make it better for her. He's going to try to make her feel at home again, like it used to be.

General Comment I should've known this wasn't real And fought it off and fought to feel What matters most? I promise you I will bring you home I will bring you home. I think that means that he was pulling away from whoever he's singing to, and he realizes now, for some reason, how much he loves her and is trying to apologize for all the pain he caused her and whatnot.
